The Girard-Perregaux Laureato collection, which celebrated its half-century anniversary last year, has been expanded with a bicolor chronograph. The highlight of this novelty is the Toblerone chocolate-colored dial.

The original 1975 Laureato model was also bicolor. Its steel case was complemented by a polished yellow gold bezel, and a narrow gold line ran along the central links of the integrated steel bracelet. Although it appeared painted at first glance, it was actually an inlay with gold plating. The new model harks back to the original by opting for a combination of steel and rose gold. Modern accents are added with a chocolate dial featuring a 'Clou de Paris' pattern and a matching rubber strap.

The case dimensions are 42 x 12.16 mm. It has a water resistance of 100 meters. The visual contrast of sporty matte steel is created by polished bevels, along with a set of polished rose gold pushers and a screw-down crown. The octagonal bezel made of rose gold has a circular matte finish and a polished base.

Importantly, the case uses 904L steel, which, unlike 316L steel, has a higher chromium content and is thus more resistant to corrosion.

The dial layout includes 3 counters with a concentric pattern, a date window at the '4:30' position, a set of baton hour markers, and rose gold-plated hands with white luminescent coating. The central chronograph hand and the hands on the counters are also gold-plated but not luminescent.

Inside the case is the GP 03300 caliber. This is a modular chronograph with a thickness of 6.50 mm, assembled from 419 components and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph. Through the sapphire insert in the screw-down case back, the mechanism's finish can be admired. The power reserve is 46 hours.

The texture of the rubber strap mirrors the dial pattern. The watch is fastened to the wrist with a triple folding clasp made of stainless steel. The release is limited to 50 pieces.

The approximate price of the model is CHF 24,300 or €26,800.
