At LVMH Watch Week 2026, TAG Heuer focuses on the Carrera collection, expanding the popular Carrera Glassbox line with new sizes and complications, in line with the year's theme - "Master of Chronographs."
As a watch expert, I often pay attention to complex mechanisms and technological innovations. TAG Heuer has indeed presented many interesting solutions recently - from split-second chronographs, moon phases, and tide indicators to carbon balance springs, 3D-printed cases, and the use of lab-grown diamonds. However, sometimes simple and concise models turn out to be the most significant. A striking example is the new 41mm Glassbox version, which will be the subject of today's review and is likely to attract more attention from collectors than limited editions with six-figure prices.
Case
The Carrera Glassbox design has been acclaimed by fans since its debut in 2023, marking a noticeable step forward in aesthetics and detail compared to previous generations of Carrera in the modern TAG Heuer era. The standard 39mm case size has always been considered comfortable. However, considering that until 2023, the Carrera was available in sizes 42 and 44mm, some collectors had to forgo the Glassbox model due to its smaller diameter. (Yes, larger versions of the Glassbox have been released since 2023, but only with complications - a standard larger model has not been available until now.)
This issue is resolved in the new 41mm model, with a thickness of 14.17mm and a lug-to-lug length of 47.48mm. For reference, the case is 0.3mm thicker and 1.48mm longer than the 39mm version. Despite the increase in size, the new Glassbox remains comfortable to wear and suits most wrists, especially larger ones.

An interesting detail when flipping the watch is the engraving of a wreath on the lower right lug of the case. This "Victory Wreath" recently appeared on Carrera models and symbolizes both the brand's racing heritage and the personal achievement of the watch owner. The history of Carrera is connected to this symbol - former CEO Jack Heuer presented gold Carrera models to Formula 1 race winners.
Dials

The main layout and finish of the 41mm Glassbox dial are almost identical to the 39mm version, but a feature long-awaited by many Carrera fans has appeared - the absence of a date window. This potentially gives the model a cleaner, more vintage look compared to the 39mm version.

Three dial options are available:
- Classic dark blue;
- Turquoise-green, similar in shade to the Glassbox Dato 2024;
- Black with bright red sporty accents on the hands and outer ring.
Bracelet

All three versions come on a steel bracelet with seven links and a folding butterfly clasp. The Carrera Glassbox line is transitioning from the three-row bracelet used at the model's launch to a more modern seven-row design. Although the three-row bracelet was neither uncomfortable nor bad, the seven-row option is more popular among collectors. One can hope that rally-style leather straps for the 41mm version will appear in the future.
Movement

Inside the TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox 41mm is the caliber TH20-01, presumably the no-date version of the existing TH20-00, used in all modern TAG Heuer chronographs. This movement has several advantages:
- Power reserve - 80 hours;
- Vertical clutch;
- Column wheel;
- Bidirectional automatic winding.
The movement's finish is industrial with Geneva stripes on the bridges and plate, and the rotor is decorated with vertical brushing and the TAG Heuer shield.
Final Evaluation

Having a wrist size of 19 cm, I did not experience discomfort with the 39mm Glassbox version, but 41mm suits me even better. This model will be an excellent choice for collectors with larger wrists who find 39mm too small. Previously, to get a standard larger Carrera chronograph, one had to choose outdated 42 or 44mm versions without the Glassbox design, which, in my opinion, are inferior in terms of purity and modernity of design. The new 41mm models fill this gap, retaining all the advantages of the Glassbox design.

The only downside is that the price of the 41mm version is 400 Swiss francs higher compared to the 39mm version. On one hand, the price increase is justified by market trends and improved features. On the other, the model has become less functional due to the absence of a date window, which for many fans can be an advantage. This also reflects TAG Heuer's trend toward more premium positioning amid growing competition in the mechanical chronograph segment.
