Ultra-thin watches are one of the key challenges in watchmaking.
Creating a watch with a thin case requires high precision and engineering artistry. From complex mechanical models of high horology, like the Bulgari Octo Finissimo with a micro-rotor, to quartz watches like the new Undone Slim presented today, the main goal remains unchanged - achieving maximum case thinness without compromising functionality and design.
Ultra-thin mechanical watches are a testament to high craftsmanship and creativity, reflected in their price. In quartz models, complexity is significantly reduced due to the compactness and simplicity of the quartz movement. The Undone Slim is an excellent example of affordable ultra-thin quartz watches with an integrated bracelet, a compact size of 37mm, and an unusual hexagonal crown.
Design and Wearing Comfort

The first impression of the watch is positive. At only 4.9mm thick, I expected to feel an extremely lightweight, almost weightless case, but the watch has a pleasant weight. Upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the additional mass comes from the integrated bracelet, which surprises with its quality for a model costing just $295 USD. The bracelet links are solid and move smoothly, and the 316L stainless steel finish is carefully done - uniform brushing and smooth to the touch, yet precise edges. Even the butterfly clasp impresses with its quality: tight tolerances, a good spring mechanism on opening, and a clear click on closing.

The transition of the bracelet to the lugs of the case is very harmonious, with a smooth tapering of the links. The case slightly protrudes beyond the bracelet line, emphasizing a round shape rather than a rectangular silhouette. As someone who regularly wears a Rolex Land-Dweller, I note a similarity to the classic Rolex Oysterquartz - excellent proportions and elegant vintage style, albeit with some loss of uniqueness and originality, except for the ultra-thinness.

On the wrist, the watch feels as it should - comfortable and neat. The 37mm diameter and wide, minimalistic sunburst dial create a substantial wrist presence. These watches are suitable for daily wear, but due to water resistance of only 30 meters, they are not ideal for travel and swimming. The lack of a screw-down crown is likely due to the desire to maintain minimal case thickness. Nevertheless, the crown and stem feel reliable, with no play, at least in my sample.
Dial and Case Back

The minimalist and elegant design of the dial is particularly noteworthy. Instead of excessive decorative elements, Undone chose simplicity and readability. The dial is spacious, with enough "air" between the thin baton hour markers. The only text is a small Undone logo at the "6 o'clock" mark. The dial features only two hands - hour and minute, without a seconds hand, eliminating unnecessary visual noise.

The simplicity of the dial allows other design decisions to stand out - the ultra-thin case and integrated bracelet. Here, form clearly prevails over function - a rare phenomenon for quartz watches. The model I have is in silver, but black and blue dial options are also available. Additionally, there's a version with a completely black case and bracelet made of 316L steel - based on photographs, it is assumed to have a DLC coating, but the exact application technology has not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer.

The back is fitted with a thin solid steel case back engraved with the letter "U" at the bottom. Undone offers personalized engraving above this mark. In my sample, "WRB" is engraved, adding a touch of individuality.
Final Conclusions
The Undone Slim is a unique offering in the quartz watch segment. Today, most innovations and experiments in watchmaking occur in mechanics, so it's refreshing to see how the young brand Undone steps outside the box and offers elegant quartz watches that meet the demands of enthusiasts. Quartz watches provide broad opportunities for experimentation, and Undone leverages the main advantage - the ability to easily create ultra-thin models without complex movement redesign.
For its price, this watch offers a lot - an ultra-thin case, high-quality integrated bracelet, and minimalist design. The Undone Slim is worth considering if you are looking for unique quartz watches with an integrated bracelet.
