In 1938, Alpina's founder Gottlieb Hauser outlined his vision for the four essential characteristics of a sports watch: anti-magnetic properties, shock resistance, water resistance, and a stainless steel case. Inspired by this vision, the Alpina Alpiner 4 collection offers robust yet versatile watches with a focus on functional practicality. The brand is releasing four new models featuring beautiful textured dials, including a cool green dial, as seen on the wrist today.

The new Alpiner 4 Automatic dials are decorated with sunray finishes and horizontal recessed lines. Contrasting with the dial surface, these lines create a dynamic visual texture and a sense of depth. The sloped flange on the periphery displays a minute scale. Large applied luminescent hour markers are treated with luminescent material for optimal readability in any condition. They are paired with luminescent hour and minute hands, while the seconds hand features a red counterbalance shaped like an Alpine peak.
There are two available colors: stone gray and the forest green seen in this example.

Like previous versions, this utilitarian yet versatile model features a steel case that conveys a sense of durability. With a diameter of 44 mm, it is undoubtedly a large watch. The bi-directional rotating bezel (with a 60-minute scale) is made of stainless steel and features a luminescent pearl for zero position determination. The notched edge ensures a secure grip. In line with the collection's principles, the case architecture includes a Faraday cage to protect the movement from the negative effects of magnetic fields (tested for resistance to magnetic fields up to 4800 Amperes/meter). The screw-down crown and engraved case back ensure water resistance up to 10 ATM / 100 meters.
The Alpina Alpiner 4 Automatic is powered by the Alpina AL-25 caliber. Based on the ubiquitous Sellita SW 200-1, it is known as a reliable movement that has stood the test of time. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, this automatic movement provides a 38-hour power reserve when fully wound. It displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date at the 3 o'clock position.

There are four new references in total, and these new automatic Alpina Alpiner 4 watches are available either on a calf leather strap with white stitching or on a three-link steel bracelet with a secure folding clasp. The price is set at 1,250 euros on a leather strap and 1,350 euros on a steel bracelet.
