For over 10 years, the Glashütte Original PanoInverse has been part of the Pano collection, representing its most technical and bold iteration. The PanoInverse watches, with their exposed dials, have retained all elements of what we could call the 'German school of watchmaking,' always offering an intriguing blend of traditional and contemporary touches. Following a limited edition in platinum with a beautifully engraved plate released two years ago, the brand returns with another limited model in this luxurious material, now featuring an elegant guilloché pattern inspired by the distinctive relief pattern of the dome of the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden.

While watches from the Pano collection are usually classic, if not somewhat strict and ascetic in design - that's part of their charm - the PanoInverse is more of the extroverted family member, unafraid to express its feelings. Indeed, as the name 'Inverse' suggests, these watches have a movement fully visible from the dial side and, more importantly, reversed compared to traditional watches, with its regulating organ visible when worn.

In this context, the main plate of the Glashütte Original PanoInverse, exposed through the watch's sapphire crystal, has always been a pure canvas for GO to express traditional high watchmaking craftsmanship. Initially, the early iterations of these watches featured fine stripes and polished bevels, in addition to the brand's signature balance cock with hand engraving. But then the brand decided to push this concept even further by releasing a model with hand engraving two years ago.

The 2021 Glashütte Original PanoInverse Limited Edition is classic in its technical specifications and primarily differs from previous versions through the decoration technique used on all facets of the movement. A guilloché pattern, a semi-mechanical engraving done on a turning machine, decorates both sides of the caliber, inspired by one of Dresden's most famous buildings. The engraved surface creates a graphic pattern that shimmers differently depending on the light.
The rest of the dial remains true to previous PanoInverse versions: an off-center dial with hours and minutes, and a small seconds indicator. Here it is executed with a matte anthracite lacquer finish and complemented by hands and applied markers in white gold. The guilloché three-quarter bridge, a technical element, proudly displays gold chatons, blued screws, and rubies. The engraving also includes the power reserve and the classic balance bridge with precise Duplex swan-neck regulation. The back of the caliber 66-09 is also adorned with a guilloché pattern. This movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz and has a power reserve of 41 hours.

This exquisite movement and display are housed in a 42 mm x 12 mm case made of 950 platinum with matte and polished surfaces. The watch is worn on a gray nubuck leather strap made from Louisiana alligator with a platinum folding clasp (available in standard or short sizes).
