The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, founded in 2009, is an annual international series of cliff diving competitions, bringing together the best freediving athletes. Jumping from heights of up to 27 meters, these outstanding athletes perform virtuoso movements defying gravity. This year, in honor of the championship's revival, Mido not only reaffirms its presence as a partner but also presents special watches that are visually appealing. Introducing the new Mido Ocean Star 200 Red Bull Cliff Diving Limited Edition.
This limited edition of 500 pieces, dedicated to the sea and adrenaline-filled sport, is based on the classic Mido diver's watches with the modern design of the Ocean Star 200, available in several other versions and colors, as well as a more vintage Tribute Edition. The watch itself is a fully equipped diver's model, featuring a 42.5 mm stainless steel case with a satin finish and polished accents. The construction is relatively robust, with angular lugs and crown protection. Thanks to the screw-down crown and screw-down steel case back (engraved with special decor), the Mido Ocean Star 200 withstands 200 meters of pressure. The watch is also equipped with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
The main feature of this Red Bull Cliff Diving Limited Edition is the color scheme and dial finish. Framed by a unidirectional bezel with a blue aluminum insert, the dial is vertically brushed and features an ocean-inspired blue color. It includes applied indices and hands, mostly filled with Super-LumiNova luminous material, intersected by an orange second hand. This bright hue - Mido's signature color - also highlights the “Caliber 80” inscription at the 6 o'clock position. In addition to the three main hands, the Mido Ocean Star 200 features a date complication.
Inside the case is the Mido Caliber 80, based on the ETA C07.621 or, in other words, the Powermatic 80. This movement, common to most accessible Swatch Group brands, is a strong evolution of the 2824 architecture, enhanced by a kinetic chain and reduced frequency. It now beats at 3 Hz, with its power reserve more than doubled to 80 hours. The watch is presented in elaboré execution and regulated in three positions.
The Red Bull Cliff Diving Limited Edition watch comes on a special strap matching the dial, made of technical synthetic fabric with orange stitching, echoing the dial's accentuated elements. The strap fastens with a steel clasp.

The Mido Ocean Star 200 Red Bull Cliff Diving Limited Edition (Ref. M026.430.17.041.00) will be released in 500 pieces and is already available on the Mido website and in retail stores. The price is 960 euros, 990 Swiss francs, or 970 US dollars.
