Watch brands often get things right, much more frequently than we tend to acknowledge.

If this were not the case, why then is there a growing number of certified watch enthusiasts and collectors? Despite the novelty of collaborations in the watch world gradually fading due to their abundance, quality joint projects remain among the most significant and anticipated releases of the season. Seiko, Wind Vintage, and Rowing Blazers are three strong players, each with its own unique and masterful approach in its niche. The three brands have collaborated three times already, causing a significant stir, and fortunately for those who missed previous releases, the trilogy is not ending. After three years of annual collaborations and a three-year hiatus, the fourth joint model is presented - Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage x Seiko 5 Sports SRPM19 and SRPM21.

History and Significance of the Rowing Blazers, Wind Vintage, and Seiko Collaboration

“Working with Seiko is a dream come true,” says Eric Wind of Wind Vintage. “In my childhood, my dad's everyday watch was a Seiko, and the first vintage model I acquired was a Seiko 5 Sports Rally Diver from 1969. The Rally Diver from our first Rowing Blazers x Seiko collaboration in 2021 paid homage to my original model and remains one of the most sought-after in the Seiko 5 Sports line. It's an honor for me to create and release the next stage of this iconic series.”

The first collaboration was introduced in 2021 and included three variations in cases with a diameter of 42.5 mm. Subsequent collections in 2022 and 2023 - the second and third collaborations - offered Seiko 5 Sports in reduced 40 mm cases. The new SRPM19 and SRPM21 models take us back to the origins with one model in a larger size and, for the first time, introduce a 38 mm case - the most compact in the Rowing Blazers x Wind Vintage x Seiko 5 Sports series.

Design Features and Technical Specifications of the SRPM19 and SRPM21 Models

“We feel privileged to work with Seiko for the fourth time,” notes Rowing Blazers' Senior Collaboration Manager Tommy Sissel. “The opportunity to reimagine our original Rally Diver in two new sizes and colors is a great way to honor the legacy of both brands. Watches are an important part of our brand, and we are excited to continue our collaboration with Seiko.”

Both models have water resistance up to 100 meters and a crown with the Rowing Blazers monogram at the “4 o’clock” position. The SRPM21 model with a green dial is crafted in a 38 mm stainless steel case, while the SRPM19 version with a blue dial is closer to the original size - 42 mm in stainless steel.

Both models are equipped with a rally-style bezel, which has become a hallmark of the original collaboration, but are presented for the first time in new blue and green shades. The dials have a matte finish, and the hands and applied indices are filled with LumiBrite luminescent compound with a “faded” color effect, reminiscent of the soft light-green patina appreciated by vintage watch collectors. The central seconds hand is designed in a rally style, emphasizing the overall design theme.

Strap Options and Movement

Both models come with two strap options:

  • A matte stainless steel bracelet with three links;
  • A nylon strap in a contrasting color (blue for the green SRPM21 model and green for the blue SRPM19).

The watches house the in-house automatic caliber Seiko 4R36. The movement provides a 41-hour power reserve and manages the display of hours, minutes, seconds, as well as the day of the week (bilingual - English/Spanish) and the date at the “3 o’clock” position - a rare feature for watches priced under $1,000, especially outside of Seiko's catalog.
