  • Norqain Freedom Chrono 'Sprinkles' offers a playful design with luminescent details and water resistance.

Almost a week has passed since the end of Geneva Watch Week 2026, and I am still analyzing all the information gathered during my visit.

It was one of the best and most inspiring watch events I have ever attended. The week-long event combines several happenings - from the famous Watches & Wonders to more intimate and cozy ones like Chronopolis, Time to Watches, and the magnificent multi-level exhibition at the Beau Rivage hotel.

The city literally lives the watch theme: besides the main events, there are private meetings in brand boutiques and festive parties in restaurants and bars. This atmosphere reminded me of the local Grand Prix in Montreal, just with watches everywhere in Geneva instead of cars.

Instead of a traditional "best watches of Watches & Wonders 2026" review, I decided to present a list of not the most popular models, but the most inspiring and unusual ones, moving away from the usual hype around Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet. The selection includes two models with innovative technical solutions, possibly expanding the boundaries of watchmaking, and one more affordable, yet creative and original. Frankly, despite the presence of many industry journalists at Geneva Watch Week, no one could see and try absolutely all the novelties and brands - there are too many. Therefore, below is a brief checklist of the most interesting watches I managed to work with personally, try on my wrist, and photograph.

Ulysse Nardin Super Freak

These watches have already received a lot of attention in the press, but they must be on this list as they made a strong impression on me. Ulysse Nardin was the last booth I visited on the first day of Watches & Wonders, and although I was already tired, the encounter with the Super Freak was a real awakening, comparable to a double shot of espresso.

This is a high-complication time-only watch consisting of 511 parts, only 13 of which are stationary - all the rest are moving. It is a demonstration of the highest craftsmanship, and probably the most complicated time-only watch in the world.

The case is made of white gold with a diameter of 44 mm, the thickness of 16.54 mm is due to the protruding super-domed crystal. Despite the large size and weight, the watch makes a strong impression when worn on a 16.5 cm wrist. The dial is the calibre UN-252 movement, which also serves as the dial. Seconds are displayed on a rotating cylinder at the tip of the minute hand, minutes by a wing-shaped indicator on a rotating carousel, and hours by a light blue nanosital disc. The price is $393,600 USD.

Cyrus Genève Klepcys Jasper

Cyrus was the first brand on my list of scheduled meetings on the morning of April 14, 2026. While I was setting up my camera and tripod, a vertical tourbillon gracefully positioned itself in front of me - an element that immediately caught my attention. Despite the brand's modest presence and small booth, the Klepcys was one of the most noticeable watches at the exhibition.

The vertical tourbillon is located in the center of the dial and rotates like a Ferris wheel. The feature is the display of seconds on the rotating tourbillon cage, which, due to its vertical position, is easily readable both from the front and through the rear sapphire glass. The case is made of grade 5 titanium, and the dial is made of lapis lazuli.

The philosophy of the watch is rooted in the principles of Leonardo da Vinci, which gives it a deep conceptual meaning (more details on Cyrus's official website). The release is limited to only 5 pieces, the price is 150,000 Swiss francs.

Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life "Sprinkles"

Moving away from high complications, it's worth paying attention to the lighter and playful model Freedom Chrono "Sprinkles" from the independent brand Norqain. After the serious and complex watches at Watches & Wonders, it was a pleasure to get acquainted with a fun model designed to help relax and just enjoy life.

As seen in the photo and from the name, the dial is adorned with multicolored "sprinkles" in the form of candy granules, each of which glows in the dark.

The watch is available in two colors: my favorite is the soft pink dial, and there is also a turquoise option that might better suit a skin tone. A feature is the retro chronograph case with classic pump pushers. The case diameter is 40 mm, the thickness is 14.9 mm, due to the Sellita SW510-a movement. On my 16.5 cm wrist, the watch sat perfectly, and despite its playful design, it has a water resistance of 100 meters.

The dial is executed in a classic triangle layout 3-6-9 with white sub-dials for seconds, minutes, and hours. A fun element is the date window, which every 7 days shows a colored ice cream cone. The price of the model is $6,290 USD.

Conclusion

Watches & Wonders 2026 showcased a wide range of watch innovations and creative solutions. From technically complex and conceptually deep models to light and joyful ones, everyone could find something inspiring. The presented watches demonstrate that the industry continues to evolve, combining craftsmanship, art, and innovation.
