Ulysse Nardin is no stranger to the aquatic world. The brand has a long tradition of producing marine chronometers and has been involved in making diving watches as well as protecting oceans and their inhabitants, especially sharks - recall the numerous Hammerhead Shark editions made by the brand in previous years. Now, in celebration of World Ocean Day, the brand introduces a new model that is once again fully dedicated to ocean conservation and reducing marine pollution. These watches follow the DIVER NET concept, joining forces with world-renowned shark experts engaged in marine life research and ocean conservation, through partnerships with two specialized organizations - OCEARCH and the FIU Medina Aquarius Program. The watches, the new Ulysse Nardin Diver Lemon Shark model, are dedicated to the gentle giant residing in Florida.
By releasing these and other watches, Ulysse Nardin has committed to environmental protection efforts in line with the United Nations' guiding principles and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to be achieved by 2030. The UN goal is to reduce marine pollution by integrating materials sourced from the ocean into its products, as demonstrated in the conceptual DIVER NET watches, a model that emphasized the brand's idea of creating straps from discarded fishing nets. Through these watches, Ulysse Nardin also reaffirms its commitment to marine conservation by partnering with two organizations dedicated to shark protection.
“Sharks play a vital role in the natural order of marine ecosystems. By studying these enigmatic and often feared animals, we can learn more about their feeding habits, mating processes, and movements in the ocean. This ultimately allows us to understand how best to protect them.” To this end, the UN announces its partnership with OCEARCH, a non-profit organization that helps scientists collect and access previously unattainable data in the ocean. OCEARCH, for instance, developed the sophisticated Shark Tracker App, allowing scientists and the public to track sharks tagged by the organization and its partners in real-time. Also, as part of this ocean conservation commitment, Ulysse Nardin collaborates with the FIU Medina Aquarius Program at Florida International University's Institute of the Environment. The world's only underwater research and education laboratory, Aquarius, is deployed 60 feet below the surface in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Finally, part of the adventure includes ocean photographer and explorer Fred Buyle, who contributed to shark bio-tagging.
All these initiatives aim to protect sharks, particularly lemon sharks, predators that feed on fish and crustaceans. Named so because they camouflage easily due to their yellow color, they may even be capable of forming social bonds and learning from one another.

To affirm its commitment to ocean and shark conservation, Ulysse Nardin is releasing a limited edition based on the classic Diver 42mm model. Identical in specifications and proportions, the new Ulysse Nardin Diver Lemon Shark is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case with black DLC coating. It retains the concave bezel profile, embossed with a 60-minute dive scale with a concentric pattern. The all-black aesthetic is accentuated by a yellow 0 marker and logo on the crown. The watch also maintains its diving characteristics, providing water resistance to 300 meters. On top is a domed sapphire crystal, while the screw-down case back is adorned with a shark motif.
The dial of the Ulysse Nardin Diver Lemon Shark follows the same theme: a matte black sandblasted surface with yellow accents around the perimeter - on the minute track, second hand, and logo at the “6 o’clock” position. The hands and applied indices also retain the look of the classic UN Diver model and are largely filled with “shark gray” Super-LumiNova. At the “6 o’clock” position, there is a tone-on-tone date window. At the heart of the watch lies the UN-816 caliber, based on the Sellita SW-300 and modified by the brand using its proprietary silicon escapement technology.

Like the DIVER NET Concept, the new Diver Lemon Shark model is worn on an R-STRAP strap made from recycled fishing nets collected in France. The black textile strap is fastened with blackened titanium hardware and features a yellow tint matching the dial and case.

The Ulysse Nardin Diver Lemon Shark watch will be released in a limited edition of 300 pieces priced at 6,300 Euros, 6,900 Swiss Francs or 7,300 USD. For more information on the watch and partnerships, visit www.ulysse-nardin.com, www.ocearch.org, and aquarius.fiu.edu.
