Today we present an expert review of the latest model of Swiss watches by Brellum.
Fans of this small yet expressive brand might recognize the stylistic features, but the new Duobox Triple Calendar Moonphase model has an important distinction - an icy blue dial that looks impressive. In this article, we take an in-depth look at this limited chronograph and reveal its features.
History and Features of the Duobox Triple Calendar Moonphase Model
In April last year, we got acquainted with the Brellum Duobox Triple Calendar Moonphase version with a salmon-colored dial. This model received positive reviews due to its rich functionality and expressive wrist design. Now the design returns in a new color scheme that fits well with any case options. We spent time with the watch at the brand's headquarters and are ready to share our expert opinion.
Brellum Duobox Triple Calendar Moonphase Ice Blue Chronograph
Light blue dials have remained popular for over ten years, and their use in the new model looks like a logical development of an attractive design. That's why Brellum chose this hue for the 41.8 mm diameter case and 51.8 mm lug-to-lug. The watch is 15.9 mm thick. The case is made of 316L stainless steel or titanium with a steel bezel. The chronograph buttons and large crown with a logo provide ease of control and add a sporty character. These are not small watches, but not everyone prefers models with a diameter of less than 40 mm. Brellum traditionally focuses on everyday use, so the water resistance is 100 meters. For dry weather, the optimal addition is a brown leather strap embossed to resemble alligator skin and a branded folding clasp.
New Dial with Icy Blue Tint
Brellum manufactures limited series of each model and does not repeat them after selling out. Therefore, the appearance of new colors and materials is a common occurrence. The main novelty of this version is the icy blue sunray-effect dial, unlike the previous model with a salmon opaline finish.
The dial contains a lot of information but is executed in a balanced and harmonious style. Polished Roman numerals alternate with arrow-like hour markers that match the style of the luminescent central hour and minute hands. The central part of the dial is raised and adorned with a radiant texture, while the recessed ring with hour markers has a glossy surface. An elevated calendar indicator is located on the outer edge.

Additional functions include a moon phase calendar in the lower register, combined with a 12-hour chronograph counter. The running seconds and day-night indicator are located at 9 o'clock. The upper subdial contains a 30-minute counter, as well as windows for displaying the day of the week and month. A small button on the side of the case is provided for adjusting months with fewer than 31 days. Super-LumiNova with blue glow is applied to the top of the dial, day/night indicator, and central hands.

Brellum BR-751 Movement with COSC Certification
The model is equipped with the automatic caliber BR-751 based on the Valjoux 7751, certified as a COSC chronometer. A feature is the skeletonized rotor with a 4N gold coating and an individual number, decorated with a moon theme.

Through the convex sapphire crystal on the case back, one can observe the high-quality finish of the movement: perlage, Geneva stripes, and blued screws. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 46-hour power reserve.

Ergonomic Case Design
Despite its large size, the Duobox Triple Calendar Moonphase does not feel bulky. Thanks to the curved lugs, the case fits snugly on the wrist. Matte side surfaces and convex sapphire crystal visually reduce the dimensions. There is significant demand on the market for watches of this size, and Brellum manages to create models with a comfortable fit, avoiding awkwardness.

These watches are great for everyday wear. For more informal occasions, they can be paired with racing-style straps, and for water activities - with nylon or canvas straps.

Limited Edition and Prices
Like the previous version with a salmon-colored dial, the Duobox Triple Calendar Moonphase Ice Blue is released in a limited edition of only 33 numbered pieces in a combination of titanium and steel. The lightweight titanium version costs 3,890 Swiss francs, while the steel one is 3,690 francs. We did not test the titanium model, but the darker case should pair excellently with the icy dial. The choice between versions depends on personal preferences - both deserve attention. Orders can be placed on Brellum's official website.
