Oris is undoubtedly a highly productive brand with a collection that includes numerous models aimed at water sports. From the classic Aquis watches in various sizes and colors, even featuring an in-house movement, to the ultra-rugged Prodive - there's a watch for everyone. And if you're looking for cool sports watches with a vintage style and a casual appearance, there's the Divers Sixty-Five - a cornerstone model of the collection since its debut in 2015. Today, the brand adds a new, rather mysterious color - the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Glow.
The Divers Sixty-Five watches pay homage to the 1965 model with a very original design, particularly the dial with trapezoidal indices. Although this bold and somewhat unusual design was replaced by a more classic set of applied indices, the overall fun and cool design remains, offering a sporty, everyday watch with diver characteristics - but not quite like those found in the Prodive. The Oris Divers Sixty-Five is a nod to the past with versatile features.
The new Glow edition is based on a mid-sized 40mm case. It retains all the characteristics of previous editions: a classic and compact design with matte surfaces, polished accents, an enlarged and unprotected crown (which screws down), a sapphire crystal with an ultra-deep bottom, a height of 12.8mm (but the watch appears thinner thanks to the slim straps), and water resistance of 100 meters.
The new Oris Divers Sixty-Five Glow initially appears monochromatic due to its combination of gray and black tones. But only at first. The unidirectional bezel features a black-silver aluminum insert, and the dial, typical for the collection with applied markers, is done in a trendy "smoked" gradient gray color. What changes are the colored markers and hands in turquoise Super-LumiNova, which could very well become a new trend in watchmaking in the coming months… Additionally, you'll be pleased to see that Oris chose a no-date option.
Inside the case is the classic Oris 733 caliber, based on the automatic Sellita SW 200-1 movement. The Oris Divers Sixty-Five Glow is offered on a stainless steel bracelet with a riveted clasp or on a black leather strap with a steel clasp. The watches are already available in the brand's online boutique or retail stores, priced at 1,800 euros on a leather strap or 2,000 euros on a steel bracelet.
