Key Takeaways

  • Nezumi Adventure Trio offers versatile travel watches with distinct styles.
  • The collection includes the Terrain field watch, Baleine dive watch, and Aviera GMT.
  • Affordable pricing with all models totaling just over 1,500 euros.

The young Swedish brand Nezumi has gained fame with its stylish and affordable watch catalog.

Now, with the release of the new field watch Terrain, the Stockholm brand has completed its ultimate traveler triumvirate - the Adventure Trio. Alongside the new Terrain model, we have the relatively older but updated Baleine dive watch and last year's hit, the Aviera GMT. Each model serves different purposes, ensuring the Adventure Trio equips you with everything you need for your world travels. I had the chance to work with all three watches and see how they perform together.

I am a fan of Nezumi. This is not a shocking revelation, but it indicates that I have been following the Swedish brand for the past 3-4 years. During this time, we at WatchTested have covered several Nezumi watches. The brand first made its mark with a series of attractive meca-quartz chronographs. These watches immediately stood out for their excellent retro style and vividness. However, the brand did not limit itself to just meca-quartz watches, and we also saw models with automatic winding, featuring Japanese three-hand and Swiss chronograph movements. The watches are always stylish and affordable, making them appealing to many watch enthusiasts.

The Idea Behind Nezumi Adventure Trio

For the Adventure Trio, Nezumi created a mini-series of three different watch styles for travel. The first model is the Nezumi Aviera, a GMT watch. These Explorer II-style watches allow you to easily track time in two different time zones. The second watch is the Nezumi Baleine, a retro-style dive watch for any water adventures you have planned. The third and final model is the Nezumi Terrain, classic field watches perfect for daily wear. This is more of a new model than an updated one.

Despite the watches having different purposes and details, Nezumi has visually united all three models. The watches form a cohesive trio thanks to a shared dial design, style of hands and numerals, and color scheme. All three watches feature a black dial with contrasting cream-colored numerals, markers, and hands, along with a single dark yellow hand. Let's zoom in on each model to learn more details.

Nezumi Terrain Field Watch

Let's start with the new Nezumi Terrain model. These automatic watches have a classic field watch appearance, crafted in the distinctive Nezumi style I just described. The Terrain features a 38mm stainless steel case, 11.7mm thick, and a length of 45.5mm from tip to tip. This modest-sized case also has a 20mm lug width, water resistance of 200m, and a screw-down crown. Additionally, the matte black dial hosts large cream-colored luminous numerals and hour markers. Surrounding them is a 60-minute track paired with a classic secondary 13-24-hour scale.

The black pencil-shaped hour and minute hands are also coated with the same white lume as the dial markers. A yellow second hand adds a lively touch, standing out against the "Automatic" text on the dial. I really like this bright accent and the overall style of the Terrain. The combination of black, cream, and yellow creates a stylish look that complements the other two Adventure Trio models and allows them to look fantastic.

Inside the case is the Japanese Miyota 9039 caliber. The automatic movement operates at 28,800 beats per hour and has a 42-hour power reserve. It is hidden behind a screw-down stainless steel case back with Nezumi's signature engraving. In my opinion, it's one of the best case back designs in the industry, adding a lot of retro style.

Various Variations and Options

Besides the black dial version, Nezumi offers a blue dial option, which completely transforms the look. We have already seen this dial color in the Aviera GMT model. It is a bright shade of blue that pairs well with the Aviera and Terrain. Additionally, the watches will have different strap options that significantly change the overall appearance. We had the version with a black dial and a black leather strap with beautiful white stitching, giving the watch a retro look.

Nezumi Terrain with blue dial and brown strap

I also saw the blue dial version on a brown leather strap - a great option. It complements the versatility of field watches, creating a stylish, modern look. On the wrist, the Nezumi Terrain looks fantastic, blending retro charm with modern details. The new automatic Nezumi Terrain field watch is available now for 420 euros excluding taxes. This makes these field watches a very tempting offer as a standalone model for daily wear and one of the three well-thought-out watches forming the Adventure Trio.

Nezumi Baleine Dive Watch

The second of the three watches is the already familiar Nezumi Baleine dive watch. We presented the previous gold-colored version back in 2021. The new version matches the Terrain field watch model. The Baleine features a 40mm stainless steel case, 13.1mm thick, and a length of 47mm. Like the Terrain model, the lug width is 20mm, and the diving depth is 200m. The case is equipped with a screw-down crown and a 120-click unidirectional rotating bezel. The latter has a black aluminum insert with a luminous 60-minute dive scale.

Like the Terrain field watches, the matte black dial features large cream-colored numerals at "3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock" positions and trapezoidal markers for the remaining hours. On the outer edge of the hour scale is a minute scale in the same color as the integrated 13-24-hour scale. Like the Terrain model, the black hands also have abundant cream-colored luminescence. Thanks to this, you can always read the time in the dark.

Beautiful Retro Diver with Full Features

Like the Terrain model, the new version of the Baleine is equipped with the Miyota 9039 movement. This automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve is securely hidden behind the case back, crafted in the same style. The Baleine model is also offered in a blue dial version with several strap options. Since these are dive watches, in the blue version of the Baleine, not only the dial color changes. Nezumi also changed the bezel color, creating a watch with a completely different appearance.

Again, the brand offers various strap options, with prices starting from 490 euros excluding taxes. I had the opportunity to try the black version, and I really liked it. Of all three models, in my opinion, the Baleine has the most unique character. The design influence is evident in the other two models, but in the Baleine, this influence is less obvious, and I really like that.

Nezumi Aviera GMT Watch

Completing the Adventure Trio is the Aviera GMT model. We have already covered them on WatchTested. We wrote a hands-on review of the previous version, which was equipped with the Seiko NH34 GMT movement. However, with the release of the Miyota 9075 GMT caliber, the brand transitioned from a caller-style movement to a flyer-style movement. This is a sensible move, as many watch enthusiasts prefer flyer-style GMTs. Notably, how quickly Miyota has captured the affordable GMT market with this movement.

Except for the caliber, little has changed. The Aviera GMT model, in Explorer II style, has a 40mm stainless steel case, 13.5mm thick, a length of 47mm, a lug width of 20mm, and water resistance of 200m. The watch features a fixed stainless steel bezel with an engraved black 24-hour GMT scale. The black dial matches the dials of the other models and is styled similarly to the numerals and markers. However, these watches feature syringe-style hour and minute hands and a slender second hand. Completing the set is an enlarged yellow GMT hand. All four hands are coated with cream-colored luminescent material, allowing time reading in two time zones day and night.

Updated Flyer-Style Mechanism

As mentioned, Nezumi updated the mechanism to the flyer-style Miyota 9075. This automatic GMT movement operates at 28,800 beats per hour and has a 42-hour power reserve. As the movement is flyer-style, you can independently set the 12-hour hand to local time. This is very convenient if you frequently travel across different time zones, and such an update will attract many fans. The Aviera GMT is available with the same blue dial as the other watches, with several leather or rubber strap options.

Nezumi Aviera GMT with Jubilee bracelet

We had the Aviera GMT watch on a Jubilee-style bracelet, which Thor also reviewed. It is a well-made bracelet that makes the watch comfortable to wear and allows it to sit confidently on the wrist. Besides the bracelet, I really like the white rubber strap option. The strap's color matches the cream lume, making the watch versatile and stylish for travelers who are less influenced by external factors. The Aviera model is practical in everyday life and, like the Baleine dive model, costs 490 euros excluding taxes.

Final Thoughts on Nezumi Adventure Trio

I love the concept of creating three aesthetically related but functionally different watches for various situations. If you are a fan of Nezumi's design, I can see the Adventure Trio watches being a good fit for you. While many people enjoy the variety of different brands and models, there are also those who prefer to have several watches from one brand or even multiple models of the same model. Often these are collectors.

Complete Nezumi Adventure Trio set

But these Adventure Trio watches have a slightly different perspective that I like. It could be the perfect solution if you travel a lot and like to take a small set of different watches with you. Moreover, at a price slightly over 1,500 euros for all three models, you get a lot of style and practicality for a reasonable amount. The Nezumi Adventure Trio is an excellent and affordable set of watches, even if you don't travel that often.
