The German brand Tutima, tracing its roots back to the 1920s, is renowned for its rich heritage in aviation and sports watches, proudly continued by the Grand Flieger and M2 collections.
However, the brand's repertoire is not limited to these, and today we discuss the Saxon One collection by Tutima, which embodies Tutima's expertise in dynamic sports watches, capturing the essence of the "Saxon sports spirit."

The 43 mm diameter and 15.7 mm thickness are significant, making the Saxon One ZSM stand out on the wrist. However, the original case design - a rounded cushion with facets - was created with ergonomics in mind, and it is comfortable to wear - as you can see on the 16.5 cm wrist of our editor-in-chief Bryce, it does not appear excessively large.
The long chronograph pushers are discreetly integrated into the side of the case, and small protective shields cover the crown. In line with the collection's ethos, the Saxon One ZSM is equipped with a rotating bezel with a countdown timer and a signature red marker at the "12 o'clock" position.
This edition features a large black insert with a luminous dot next to the red marker, deviating from the polished bezels of this series. The domed sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides, ensures optimal visibility.
The stainless steel case has a matte finish with subtle polished accents, emphasizing its sporty aesthetic.
The bright yellow dial of the Saxon One ZSM exudes energy, highlighted by black and white details on each element, contributing to the cohesive design of the watch. On the inclined inner flange, a minute scale is printed in black, with the first 15 minutes highlighted in bright yellow, and each minute clearly marked in black.
The subsequent intervals, printed in yellow, are marked in 5-minute increments. Nearby is a black second track with 12 applied hour indices, overlapping the track and the main dial.
Following the traditions of the series, the Saxon One ZSM chronograph has retained the usual layout. At the "6 o'clock" position is a 12-hour counter, and the central chronograph hands track seconds and minutes.
An additional subdial with a running seconds hand at the "9 o'clock" position is finely drawn, and a date window at the "3 o'clock" position has a clear white indication on a black background. A 24-hour subdial at the "12 o'clock" position serves as a convenient day and night indicator.
Super-LumiNova coating enhances visibility in low light conditions. It is applied to the hour indices, hour and minute hands, as well as all chronograph hands. The luminescent coating extends to the chronograph hour counter, and at the "12 o'clock" position on the minute hand, there is a luminescent dot for additional clarity in nighttime indications.
In the Saxon One chronograph series by Tutima, the caliber 521 is used, which is also featured in the M2 Pioneer chronograph. Created based on the reliable Valjoux 7750 caliber, it has been modified by Tutima and now includes a central chronograph minute counter and a central chronograph second hand - a signature enhancement made at the Glashütte factory.
The automatic movement runs at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, has a 48-hour power reserve, and features a worthy finish - in line with the style and price of the watch - visible through the sapphire case back. Meanwhile, the watch's functionality is not compromised - it boasts water resistance of 200 meters.
The new Tutima Saxon One ZSM edition in racing yellow is worn on a yellow rubber strap, closed with a pin buckle.
