Versace Greca Logo Aero might be one of the first men's quartz watches from Versace that I have reviewed.
While I have previously featured several women's Versace models with quartz movements, for men's Versace watches, I usually opt for mechanical versions for the WatchTested audience. However, automatic models make up only a small portion of the Italian company's production, which is manufactured in partnership with Timex Luxury Group (Switzerland, close to Italy). Most buyers interested in Versace watches are likely to focus on quartz models, so I decided to take a closer look at one of the new models that struck me as stylish and appealing.
Design and Features of Versace Greca Logo Aero
This is the Versace Greca Logo Aero model, which combines wearing comfort with a well-readable, elegant dial, a slim case, and an integrated bracelet. The version with the article number PVE5Q005-P0026_PNUL is executed in a two-tone style - steel and gold plating - with a vibrant metallic green dial. Versace also offers a similar model (article number PVE5Q006-P0026_PNUL) with a fully IP-gold steel case and a black metallic dial.
Both models look attractive, with the fully gold version more vividly conveying the atmosphere of Versace's Italian fashion. These watches are simple yet playful. I can imagine them as the perfect accessory for those who want to look elegant while maintaining lightness and casualness, such as when visiting a nightclub.
Case Construction and Materials
The name "Aero" is not related to aviation or flights. It is rather a designation of the lightness and gracefulness of the case. The case is made of steel, with a diameter of 39 mm, and water resistance up to 50 meters. The watch cannot be called ultra-thin, but it is thin enough not to appear bulky on the wrist. Versace borrowed a design solution from the Bulgari Diagono model - hinged lugs that connect with the bracelet. A similar hinged motif is repeated in the links of the tapering steel bracelet. The fastening is done with a tension butterfly clasp.
Bezel and Dial Design
The most notable visual detail of the Versace Greca Logo Aero (apart from the Medusa logo at the "12 o'clock" position) is the bezel design. The round bezel is adorned with Versace's traditional pattern, and the screws embedded in the bezel are reminiscent of the design of other popular watches with bezel screws. The designers have cleverly maintained minimalism on the dial, where there are only two wide dauphine-style hands with luminescent coating for the minutes and hours.
They point to well-distinguished applied hour markers. The markers and hands are in a yellow gold tone, which harmoniously looks on the rich green background of the Greca Logo Aero dial. The dial is protected by flat sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating and enhanced scratch resistance.
Movement and Technical Specifications
Inside the watch is a Swiss quartz movement Ronda caliber 762. The commercial version, unlike the tested prototype with a blank case back, is equipped with a metal snap-on back cover, laser-engraved with the Medusa logo and technical information. Both versions - "gold + steel" and fully gold - combine refined simplicity with Versace brand values.
These watches are not intended for collectors but for brand enthusiasts seeking accessible luxury watches without excessive complications. Although Versace's strategy for positioning and pricing is not new, it is less common today as many fashion houses either raise watch prices or cease production altogether. Versace and its partner Timex Luxury Group continue to actively develop the fashion watch segment.
