The best new releases from LVMH Watch Week and more.
This week, the first new releases of the year were presented by watch brands from the LVMH group. Let's take a look at what interesting pieces were unveiled in Milan and what LVMH colleagues showcased in the watch sector in our traditional weekly roundup.
Bvlgari Maglia Milanese Monete
Bvlgari has previously introduced watches with a dial cover resembling an ancient coin. This new piece stands out with its graphic square case, which is offered for the first time by Bvlgari on a Milanese mesh bracelet. Read more about this model and other Bvlgari novelties in the review.
Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Novak Djokovic GOAT Edition
A new release in partnership with Novak Djokovic. The case of this model is partially made from a composite incorporating fragments of tennis rackets and polo shirts. We've seen such marvels from Hublot a couple of years ago. The highlight of this series is that each of the 3 models in the tennis set is limited to the number of Djokovic's victories on different surfaces. Another amusing detail - the open structure of the mechanism resembles the strings of a tennis racket. Read more about this and other Hublot novelties in the review.
Louis Vuitton Escale Worldtime Tourbillon
The feature of this model is a return to the aesthetics of the world timepiece released in 2014. The platinum case is complemented by a dial where the city scale is marked with flags of colorful enamel. The complexity is enhanced by the central tourbillon with a carriage shaped like a flower - the brand's iconic Louis Vuitton monogram. Louis Vuitton Tambour Convergence Rose Gold Guilloché
A new addition to the Tambour Convergence series, which became one of the most notable releases of last year. The main feature of the model is the hour and minute display in two adjacent windows at the top of the dial. Alongside the unusual display is an interesting decorative element: the dial space is adorned with two guilloché patterns made using antique machines. Read more about this model in the review.
Louis Vuitton Camionnette
Another new release from Louis Vuitton - interior clocks styled as vans, which in the early 20th century delivered Louis Vuitton trunks to hotels and clients' homes. The aluminum van body mirrors the original colors. Hours and minutes are displayed on rotating discs located in front of the driver's cabin where the engine is. The design of the model includes many references to Louis Vuitton symbolism. The winding key is hidden in the van body - in a box shaped like a Louis Vuitton trunk. Daniel Roth Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton
A new release from Daniel Roth without historical background. The watch case has the standard Daniel Roth double ellipse shape but is significantly thinner than classic models. The case is made of 18K rose gold, as is the open structure of the mechanism with interesting detail finishes. Functional elements in the design include only 2 blued hands and a visible winding spring that can be used as a power reserve indicator. Read more about the watch in the review.
Gerald Genta Geneva Time Only
Two new models in the same style as last year's Gerald Genta minute repeater. The watches feature 38mm cases in white and rose gold, shaped like a cushion or a softened oval. They are complemented by dials made of grainy brass. The warmer rose gold version is designed in brown, while the white gold model features a grey dial. Read more about these novelties in the review.
Zenith DEFY Skyline Tourbillion Skeleton
A limited edition from Zenith, featuring the first skeleton with a tourbillon in the DEFY Skyline line. What's unique here is the original structure of the mechanism, which, thanks to PVD coating and rhodium plating, has been given a deep blue color. The rose gold case is complemented by a matching bracelet, which can be replaced with a blue rubber strap. Read more about this and other Zenith novelties in the review.
Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar "Year of the Fire Horse"
A novelty for the Year of the Fire Horse. Traditionally, watches in this series combine the Gregorian and Chinese lunisolar calendars. This model is distinguished by its 45.2mm platinum case with an enamel salmon-toned dial. References to the Year of the Horse can be seen in the small window at the top of the dial and on the rotor of the watch. The relief image on the rotor is accompanied by hieroglyphs representing "horse" and "fire."
The release is limited to 50 pieces. The approximate cost of the model is CHF 81,000.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 41mm
A new version of the retro Carrera chronograph with "Glassbox" glass, which fans of the brand are used to seeing in a slightly smaller 39mm diameter. By increasing the diameter, the sub-dials on the dial received more space, making the dial simpler and more balanced. The date window was removed, allowing the dial to "breathe". The watch comes with a light steel bracelet with a hidden butterfly clasp. Read more about TAG Heuer novelties in the review.
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Milano Cortina Edition
A new release for the start of the Winter Olympics in Italy. The winter mood in these watches is created by several details: a case made of white ceramic and a matching dial with original laser engraving. The pattern on the dial resembles a fingerprint on a fogged window and refers to the emblem of the upcoming Olympics. The watch comes in a special gift box. Read more about this model in the review.
MB&F LM Sequential Flyback EVO
Remember when about 4 years ago, MB&F presented a super cool 2-in-1 chronograph capable of timing in 4 different modes? The highlight of this model was a special button that could stop one or both chronographs or start them simultaneously. Now, the already complex design has been enhanced with a Flyback option. What was the result? Read in the review.
