Following the Tourbillon 1 (and Tourbillon $1), the most affordable in-house Swiss tourbillon (under 8,000 Swiss Francs, ~9,000 USD), Horage introduces the Supersede GMT sports watch with the K2 micro-rotor movement. The company values feedback from the community, allowing watch enthusiasts to vote on final design elements (such as colors, finishes, etc.), and Supersede is no exception. This close interaction with the community is rare in the industry, especially for elite pieces, and Horage certainly belongs to this rare breed. Let's take a look at the new Horage Supersede GMT sports watch and its in-house K2 Micro-Rotor caliber.

Starting with the K2 engine, the brand has developed a micro-rotor caliber with a silicon escapement, which includes a hairspring (as well as an escape wheel and anchor). When viewed through the sapphire case back, it has a hidden, futuristic look. Everything is darkened with contrasting gold emanating from the micro-rotor and selective gears, and a jewel is placed on the top plate (HAL 9000 vibration). Decorations include the Côtes de Genève pattern and Horage's signature grid. All this creates one of the most elegant mechanisms I've seen recently.

The movement has 23 jewels, operates at 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz), and offers a 72-hour power reserve. Functions include an independently adjustable GMT hand, day/night indicator, power reserve indicator, and date. This is a modular movement with 38 possible variations, and the base movement height is only 3.6 mm. The K2 is the brand's third in-house caliber, following the automatic K1 and K-TOU Tourbillon, and all have accuracy meeting COSC specifications: -4/+6 seconds per day. The community can vote on whether the K2 will receive official COSC certification, although it will meet the standard regardless.

The Horage Supersede GMT is an all-terrain sports watch designed to transition from boardrooms to hiking trails and weekend diving. It starts with an unusual 904L stainless steel case (a Rolex favorite), which is more corrosion-resistant than 316L and has a better luster when polished. It will undoubtedly be very comfortable to wear with a diameter of 39.5 mm and a height of 9.85 mm, and the current water resistance is 100 meters. Horage is working to double this figure for production models. The diver's rotating bezel with a detailed 15-minute scale is adorned with a unique knurling pattern and two rows of beveled rectangles. The crown is fully protected by a guard and features the embossed brand logo. A stainless steel bracelet with three links completes the refined sports aesthetic, and sapphire crystals cover the front and back. The final bracelet design will be chosen by community vote - matte or polished links.

The dial has many complications yet remains clean and uncluttered. The GMT hand is roughly aligned with the hour hand and has an openwork design instead of the more common "red triangle" design. Applied indices, hour and minute hands have a Super-LumiNova coating, as does the triangular marker on the bezel. The second hand has an orange tip matching the day/night indicator hand at the "9 o'clock" position. The power reserve indicator is at "12 o'clock," and the date is at "3 o'clock." Dial colors will also be selected through voting, with three out of six chosen for final production - 12:00 (white), 24:00 (black), Jet Stream (gray), Boreal (green), Atoll (light blue), and Transatlantic (dark blue).

Pre-orders for the Horage Supersede GMT sports watch will begin in November 2021. Early bird pre-orders will start at 4,500 Swiss Francs, and the retail price will be 6,500 Swiss Francs. For more information, visit the Horage website.
