A limited edition novelty that operates on the updated Spin Time mechanism from Louis Vuitton. In its new format, the mechanism mimics the operation of a 12-cylinder engine.

From May 5 to 7, the Monaco Grand Prix (officially the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2026) takes place in Monte Carlo. On this occasion, TAG Heuer presented an unusual novelty from the Monaco collection. The TAG Heuer Monaco Speed 12 model is equipped with a mechanism produced by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, developed based on the patented Spin Time function.

The new model retains the characteristic square case of the Monaco collection. The side of the square measures 40 mm, and the material is Grade 5 titanium with alternating matte and polished surfaces. The novelty also features a lot of sapphire - a sapphire bezel, a convex sapphire crystal on the dial, and a sapphire case back. It creates a sort of showcase, with the mechanism suspended inside. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters.

The dial design is clearly inspired by the world of automobiles. The vertically grooved surface in the center resembles an engine cover. The skeletonized minute hand with a red tip seems to be taken from the dashboard of a racing car. The minute scale with white and red marks is surrounded by 12 rotating titanium pistons. They are engraved with Arabic numerals filled with black lacquer.

These shaped elements rotate at the beginning of the hour, revealing the desired numeral. The principle of this mechanism refers to the sequence of operation of a twelve-cylinder engine. To help visualize the action, when the central minute hand makes one revolution, the active piston returns to its "fixed" position, and the next one rotates 90 degrees to show the current hour.

The model is equipped with the automatic caliber TH84-00, developed and produced by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. The original concept of Spin Time, offering a new take on the "jumping hour" function, was created by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbazzini. TAG Heuer's craftsmen reimagined this function in a more modern and technological key. With a balance frequency of 4 Hz, the mechanism provides a 45-hour power reserve.

The new model is offered on a black rubber strap with a textile finish and contrasting red stitching. The strap fastens with a folding titanium clasp with double safety buttons.
