The Transparent Pack collection is part of a broader trend of releasing Casio G-Shock watches with fully transparent or colored translucent cases. Recently, I talked about other watches from the same 2021 collection - the Casio G-Shock GA2100SKE-7A 'Casi-Oak', which were so popular they sold out before many fans could purchase them. These GA700SKE-7A watches are also analog-digital but are larger and styled differently from the larger GA700 collection (meaning if you like these watches but prefer a different color, Casio has you covered with at least five other versions of these watches).

The GA700 resin case is 53.4mm wide, 18.4mm thick, and 57.5mm long (water-resistant up to 200 meters). However, they are very comfortable to wear and weigh only 69 grams. Above the dial is a protected mineral glass, and the case back is made of steel. Inside the watch is the Casio 5522 module, which offers time and date on the dial, as well as a fun retro-style digital seconds indicator (for Casio) consisting of six columns of 10 segments that fill up as seconds count down. The module also includes a timer, stopwatch, alarm, calendar, and a set of world time features.

Transparent or semi-transparent watches are very fashionable nowadays. I, for one, wanted such a watch from Casio more than ten years ago, and it's very pleasing to see the brand include so many cool transparent watches in its collection - especially at such affordable prices as now. Even for people who mainly wear more expensive watches, transparent G-Shocks are not just suitable 'work watches' - they also have an inspiring style that is more mature and worldview-rich compared to some of the more 'youthfully' colorful G-Shock products, which may have more limited appeal to a conservative audience.
The price of the Casio G-Shock Transparent Pack Series GA700SKE-7A is 110 USD. Learn more on the Casio G-Shock website here.
