A few years ago at the annual WatchPro event in London, I first met representatives of the Out Of Order brand.
This young Italian brand presented fun, affordable GMT watches inspired by a cocktail theme. Since then, the company has expanded its range to include models with automatic and quartz movements. Today, we review the first automatic version of watches that have already gained popularity among Out Of Order fans. Three new models, Casanova 38 MOP Automatic, are introduced, all inspired by Venice.
History and Development of the Out Of Order Brand
Out Of Order has been producing watches since 2013, but the brand's international fame has significantly increased over the past few years. Participation in events outside Italy has helped grow its audience. For example, the brand's Instagram account has become a popular place for fans who eagerly view live and dynamic videos. The company now presents a new series, different from previous models. The Casanova 38 MOP Automatic features a new case and movement.
The New Casanova 38 MOP Automatic Collection
Until today, the Casanova collection was offered exclusively with Swiss quartz movements. A significant change is the introduction of three new models with automatic movements. The cases are made of 316L stainless steel and feature a mixed finish: the brown and blue dial models use a mix of brushing and polishing, while the cream dial model has the brand's signature aged finish characteristic of Out Of Order. This finish gives the watches a vintage worn effect. The size of the watches suits a wide range of wrists: the case diameter is 38 mm, the lug-to-lug distance is 46 mm. The case thickness is relatively small, 12.25 mm, including the sapphire crystal and steel screw-down case back.
Additional details include a three-link stainless steel bracelet with tool-free micro-adjustment, as well as a screw-down crown, providing water resistance up to 100 meters.

Three Models with Mother-of-Pearl Dials
The initial lineup of automatic Casanova features three options, all with mother-of-pearl dials adorned with applied mother-of-pearl indices and a black-and-white date indicator at the '3 o'clock' position. Such dials are rare and look unusual. The models are named after famous Venetian sites: Giudecca Blue, Rialto Ember, and San Marco Ivory. To complement the look, the unidirectional rotating bezel is equipped with a hand-brushed aluminum insert and luminescent numbers matching the dial color.

For improved readability, darker indices are outlined with a Super-LumiNova frame, and the hands are filled with Super-LumiNova C3 luminous material. A design feature is the 'OOO' logo as a counterweight to the second hand. The design of the hands is particularly noteworthy, especially the hour hand with its unique shape. Creating original design elements in diver's watches is not easy, but these models demonstrate the necessary individuality.

Reliable Automatic NH35 Movement in Casanova 38
For the first automatic Casanova models, Out Of Order chose the well-known Seiko NH35 caliber, which combines affordability and reliability. In these watches, the movement is additionally regulated, ensuring an accuracy of ±8 seconds per day - a respectable figure for this price category. The balance frequency is 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), and the power reserve is 41 hours.

Affordable Price and Versatility
The new automatic Casanova 38 MOP Automatic models are offered at a price of around €600 / US$715 and are available on the brand's official website and from authorized dealers. This is a fair price for diver's watches with a more refined style compared to typical tool models. At the same time, the features and design allow the watches to be used in any conditions. It is worth noting separately that Out Of Order managed to create waterproof watches that are equally suitable for both men and women - a rare achievement that deserves attention.
