Two new models featuring an unconventional chronograph mechanism, clearly visible as if on display.

At the Watches & Wonders exhibition, TAG Heuer introduced two new models that combine the brand's history with the latest advancements in chronograph watch technology.

The watches feature 40-mm cases made from grade 5 titanium. One model is treated with a DLC coating. The silhouette of the watches harks back to the historic 1969 Heuer Monaco 1133, including the signature crown positioned on the left side of the case. The highlight of the new models is a unique TAG Heuer mechanism that redefines both the functionality and tactile experience of operating a chronograph.

We are talking about the TH80-00 caliber, which virtually eliminates standard levers and springs traditionally associated with the chronograph's start, stop, and reset functions. Instead, it uses two flexible bistable components: one manages the start and stop, while the other handles the chronograph reset.

The development of these components took TAG Heuer's laboratory five years. They are manufactured using LIGA technology and are known for providing fast and precise transitions between positions.

The mechanism was developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. The construction is inverted and opened for viewing, allowing the mainspring barrel, gear train, balance, and the escapement with a carbon hairspring to be seen from the dial side. The mechanism is COSC certified and comes with a 5-year warranty.

The dials of the models are made from transparent acrylic glass. The new releases are offered on blue or black rubber straps embossed with a textile pattern.

The estimated price of the watches is €25,000.
In addition to this model, TAG Heuer introduced a series of Monaco chronographs with a redesigned case.
