Ulysse Nardin Freak X Gumball 3000 Edition 2 watch face

Ulysse Nardin has introduced a new model dedicated to the Gumball 3000 rally. In 2026, this race, held since 1999, will run from Miami to Mexico City with 100 cars participating. This is the second Ulysse Nardin watch in honor of the Gumball 3000 (the first model was released in 2024) and a new interpretation of the Freak X model, emphasizing improved readability and a more striking visual.

The watch is presented in a 43mm titanium case with DLC coating, which, despite the novelty's bulk, makes it light and comfortable to wear. Sapphire glass is installed on both sides of the case. The case back is partially made of DLC-coated titanium.

The highlight of the case is an orange side plate engraved with the watch's serial number. Additionally, unlike earlier Freak models, the Freak X series features a traditional crown for winding and setting the time. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters.

Open mechanism of Ulysse Nardin Freak X Gumball 3000 Edition 2

As in other Freak X models, time is displayed by the open mechanism of the watch. Instead of an hour hand, an hour disc is used, while the minute indicator is a rotating carousel. The hour disc is made of Carbonium, a composite of carbon fibers impregnated with orange epoxy resin. For the first time in the Freak X series, the minute wheel is framed by an orange ring with Super-LumiNova illumination. The hour markers are treated with white Super-LumiNova for improved readability.

Inside the watch is the in-house caliber UN-230 - an automatic movement developed specifically for the Freak X models. Distinctive features of the movement include a "floating" carousel without an upper bridge and silicon elements: an enlarged balance wheel, escapement wheel, anchor, and hairspring. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph, with a power reserve of 72 hours.

The watch is offered on a black rubber strap with orange inserts. The strap features a titanium DLC-coated folding clasp. The release is limited to 150 pieces. The model's approximate cost is €41,000 (including VAT) or $46,400 (excluding VAT).
