Universal Genève women's watch collection overview

Revived in late 2023, the brand Universal Genève presented its first women's models from its catalog. The watches draw inspiration from the design of the 1950s-1960s, which in turn traces back to the New Look style created by global fashion revolutionary Christian Dior in the late 1940s.

The Disco Mini series offers a wide range of models. Two of them feature cases in pink and white gold, mother-of-pearl dials, and textured bracelets. In the white gold version, the wide bezel of the watch is encrusted with diamonds totaling 1.13 carats. These models have a case diameter of 28 mm with a quartz movement inside.

Two Disco Mini Lace models have cases in white gold, complemented by blue mother-of-pearl dials. These watches are distinguished by a different bezel design, encrusted with several rows of diamonds totaling 4.4 carats. These models have a 32 mm case, but the movement is also quartz.

The Disco Mini Couture Edition models are distinguished by dials made of Australian fire opal, framed by sapphires, emeralds, and aquamarines. These watches are proposed to be worn with bracelets or alligator leather straps. An alternative option is straps made of leather or tweed fabric, created by hand by French craftsman Julien Faure.

In the Disco Maxi model, the 44.8 mm case is made of pink gold. The dial includes two ruby discs, each surrounded by a chain of 40 pink baguette-cut sapphires. The stones are laid with a gradient, i.e., a smooth transition from light, almost transparent sapphires to stones of saturated pink color.

The picture is completed by a bezel with a chain of 38 pink diamond-cut sapphires and an alligator leather strap matching the dial color. The model is powered by the UG-110 caliber - a movement with a micro-rotor that ensures a 72-hour power reserve. The estimated cost of the watch is CHF 150,000.

The Dioramic Couture Edition model received a 37 mm pink gold case and a dial made of imperial jade. The lacquered bezel of the watch is decorated with champlevé enamel and encrusted with 190 emeralds totaling 1.88 carats. The estimated cost of the model is CHF 100,000.

The Mini Cabriolet Couture Edition model is the only one in the collection executed in the Art Deco style, i.e., inspired by the 1930s. Both the dial and each section of the bracelet here are adorned with a "herringbone" motif. In the case of the dial, it is made in different shades of mother-of-pearl. In the case of the bracelet, it is laid out with white diamonds and baguette-cut blue and light blue sapphires.
