Fiery balance, references to St. Petersburg, and Anton Suhanov's first in-house movement.

Independent watchmaker Anton Suhanov has introduced a new creation with the poetic name Flamingo. These are the first wristwatches by the St. Petersburger to feature the concept of a fiery balance, and the first for Suhanov with an in-house movement.

The new model comes with a 42 x 11.5 mm case made of matte-polished steel. The front of the watch is fitted with a convex sapphire crystal. The sapphire case back is secured by six screws.

The dial is made from rhodium-plated and ruthenium-coated brass with sandblasted finish. The dial layout features several sectors. At the top is a large balance wheel with a diameter of 15.7 mm. Its main feature is three luminescent inserts. In low light conditions, these inserts, driven by the balance's "pulse" (18,000 vph), merge into a solid glowing ("fiery") ring.

Time is displayed on a small sub-dial at the bottom. The main hands are separated from other indicators: the small second hand is positioned at the 2 o'clock mark, and opposite it at the 10 o'clock mark is a 24-hour indicator. All hands are equipped with transparent ruby elements - a signature style of Anton Suhanov first seen in the "Chronotope" model. Ruby pallets are also integrated into the winding crown, making it easier to count rotations when winding the movement.

The lower sector of the small sub-dial contains an unusual power reserve indicator. The model's movement is designed for 84 hours of autonomy. When the pointer enters the red sector, which corresponds to the last 12 hours, its movement doubles in speed. Thus, the watch embodies the idea of a nonlinear perception of time: the less time remains, the faster it seems to pass.

The model is powered by the Su26.1L caliber - a manually wound movement that took Suhanov four years to develop. The design of the movement features many references to Suhanov's hometown of St. Petersburg.

For example, the bridge of the second and third wheels is Y-shaped. This is a reference to the Neva River's branching into the Big and Small Neva near the Peter and Paul Fortress. If the mechanism is perceived as a map of the city, Suhanov's brand logo is located exactly where the watchmaker's manufacture is.

The St. Petersburg theme continues in the shape of the balance bridge, which resembles drawbridges. Viewed from the side, the arches seem to open up, and the ruby stone at the center of the composition is associated with the rising sun.

The watch comes with a gray alligator leather strap. The steel clasp of the strap is shaped to resemble the balance bridge. The clasp tongue is stylized with Anton Suhanov's logo in the form of the letter "T". The release of this new model is limited to 38 pieces. The price of the model is 4,900,000 rubles.
