The only watch in the world capable of playing two melodies.

Do you remember the Godfather series of models from Jacob & Co? The design of these watches is centered around a music box that plays the soundtrack from Francis Ford Coppola's cult film. This year, Jacob Arabo has decided to complicate the original concept and introduced the Godfather II model. It is the only watch in the world that plays two melodies from the same film.

Do not compare this novelty with last year's masterpiece from Blancpain. That one features a minute repeater with two melodies. Here, everything is again built around a music box, which is part of a mechanism assembled from 510 parts. The mechanism is housed in an elegant rose gold case measuring 42 x 44 x 17 mm. The watch is symbolically limited to a series of 74 pieces, which refers to the year the second part of "The Godfather" was released.

"The Godfather II" is the favorite film of Jacob & Co.'s founder Jacob Arabo. The film features two compositions by Nino Rota, which are as famous as the film itself. These are the love theme and the waltz, which first plays in the wedding scene of the original film.

The black lacquered dial with the profile of Marlon Brando as Don Corleone perfectly conveys the noir aesthetics of the film. Along the sides of the case are engravings with roses. The spiral grooves on the crown evoke associations with a gun barrel. Several "bullet holes" are engraved on the case back.

Through the sapphire case back, you can see the rotating cylinder and comb of the music box inside. The mechanism is partially covered by a plate engraved with "The Godfather Love Theme". In addition to the music box, the watch is also equipped with a flying tourbillon and two power reserve indicators: one displays the power reserve for the basic mechanism, the other for the music box's operation.

The model is powered by the new JCAM62 caliber, equipped with manual winding. The button located at the "10 o'clock" mark allows switching between the two melodies. The button at the 8 o'clock position activates the music mechanism, allowing you to enjoy Nino Rota's music for 15-20 seconds. The power reserve is sufficient to repeat the melodies up to 10 times on a single winding.

Both melodies are programmed on a single musical drum, which allowed the watch case to remain compact. The music box design includes a cylinder and a comb with 18 steel teeth. The comb's teeth emit different notes depending on their length, while the brass cylinder with pins sequentially activates these teeth. Pressing the melody selection button changes the set of pins interacting with the comb.

The novelty comes with a black alligator leather strap. The estimated cost of the watch is $440,000.
